Asia has always been known for its cultural diversity. Peppered with more than 180 ethnic groups that speak around 300 different dialects, the continent sizzles with exciting sights, sounds, and smells. It is cosmopolitan yet unmarred, modern yet traditional.

Yet even with so much diversity, there is a single common thread running through the soul of Asia. It's food. For an Asian, food is a passion, an obsession, and a way of life. It represents all that makes Asia distinctively different, and provides a window into the continent's past, present and future. Knowing the food allows one a rare and untainted glimpse into Asia's heart and soul. If a plate tells a thousand stories then the Asian Food Channel will tell you those stories.


Asian food at its best


The Asian Food Channel or AFC is the first and only regional Asian food TV channel in the region. It's a new pay channel that provides a mix of both Eastern and Western programmes in a variety of formats.

It was launched in mid-2005 into multiple territories across the region starting with the world's windows into Asia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Going beyond just pretty pictures, AFC commissioned high quality programmes and is currently working to produce programmes that would delight its viewers.

With rich programming from across the region, Asian Food Channel features shows crafted by individuals who know their country and its secrets well and want to share them with you. Whether it's a travelogue or a cooking show, you will be introduced to Asia's best restaurants, the finest chefs, and extraordinary cuisines, anything that defines and refines the culinary expertise that has become synonymous with Asia.
