Eastern & Oriental Berhad

E&O is a name synonymous with timeless elegance and refinement. Inspired by the rich heritage of our 126-year old E&O Hotel in Penang - from which the Group takes its name - we draw from our past to forge the future.

Via our core divisions of Property Development, Property Investment and Hospitality & Lifestyle, the E&O Group has extensive interests in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. The most recent additions to The Group's portfolio include the landmark metro suites of St Mary Residences in Kuala Lumpur; Penang's first seafronting retail marina, Straits Quay, and the luxury resort condominiums of Quayside in the sprawling 1,000-acre community of Seri Tanjung Pinang; as well as the newly refurbished Lone Pine Hotel on Penang's famed seaside stretch of Batu Ferringhi.

Each endeavour that bears the E&O name adds a new chapter to our rich legacy - a legacy that has endured for over a hundred years and continues to set new standards in style and luxury for the future.

The Delicious Group

Delicious started as a cosy tearoom in 1 Utama Shopping Centre with only a few items on its menu in 2004. Despite its location, news of its wholesome food soon packed the thriving café to the seams with families and young professionals looking for the comfort of homemade food served up. A second outlet was opened in Bangsar Village along with five Delicious cafes in the Klang Valley. The Delicious menu has blossomed into a veritable treasure house of western and local favourites, satisfying the palates of diners from breakfast till late supper.

E&O Hotel
Penang, Malaysia

Founded in 1885 by Armenian Sarkies brothers, the E&O was patronised by colonial administrators, planters and the local and international elite. The famed hotel is the custodian of one of Penang's foremost heritage icons. The hotel went through major refurbishment and restoration in 1996, and also recently celebrated its 125th anniversary on 2 July 2010.

Among its more famous guests, it has welcomed Noel Coward, Douglas Fairbanks, Hermann Hesse, Rudyard Kipling and Somerset Maugham. With its return to elegance, it would not be a matter of wonder, as a writer once put it, that "those who have once visited this famous hotel regard the E&O as a haven to be sought again and again, as the traveller returns to the home of his affection."
