Indulge in this rich and hearty Filipino beef stew, traditionally made with buffalo meat!

Step 1 - Cook meat

  • In a pot on medium-high heat, add cubed beef, ginger and water and bring to a boil. Lower to medium-low heat and simmer for about 1 hour to 1 ½ hours until meat is tender.
    This stew is a traditional dish the area of Davao City, the Philippines!

Step 2 - Season broth

  • Once meat is tender, add yellow onions, 1 Tbsp turmeric powder, 1 Tbsp sweet paprika powder, crushed peanuts, chili padi and season to taste with salt.
  • Mix well and let it simmer on medium heat for another 5 minutes
    To save time and add flavour, you can also cook this dish in advance and let it simmer on medium-low heat until ready to serve

Serve

Peanut garnish atop broth

Serve hot with additional crushed peanuts on the side. Best enjoyed with white rice or even baked, mashed or boiled potatoes!
