Step 1 - Cook meat
- In a pot on medium-high heat, add cubed beef, ginger and water and bring to a boil. Lower to medium-low heat and simmer for about 1 hour to 1 ½ hours until meat is tender. This stew is a traditional dish the area of Davao City, the Philippines!
Step 2 - Season broth
- Once meat is tender, add yellow onions, 1 Tbsp turmeric powder, 1 Tbsp sweet paprika powder, crushed peanuts, chili padi and season to taste with salt.
- Mix well and let it simmer on medium heat for another 5 minutes To save time and add flavour, you can also cook this dish in advance and let it simmer on medium-low heat until ready to serve
Serve hot with additional crushed peanuts on the side. Best enjoyed with white rice or even baked, mashed or boiled potatoes!
