Can’t decide if you want sweet or savory? Make your own sweet and savory traditional Chinese rojak at home! Simple and tasty, just way we like it!

Step 1 - Cut ingredients

  • Slice you tiao and tau pok. Set aside.
  • Roughly dice pineapple, green mango, cucumber, and mang kuang, then mince ginger flower. Set aside.
Rojak sauce with prawn paste, tamarind sauce, sugar and peanuts

Step 2 - Mix rojak

  • In a bowl, add 3 Tbsp tamarind juice, 1 Tbsp of sugar, 2 Tbsp prawn paste and 3 Tbsp ground peanuts. Whisk until evenly combined.
  • Add you tiao, tau pok and 1 Tbsp minced ginger bud flower. Mix thoroughly.
    In Malay, rojak means “mixed”. This dish shows the cultural diversity of Singapore, which includes both Chinese, Malay and Indian elements in its ingredients.

Garnish and Serve!

Transfer ingredients onto preferred serving plate along with mang kuang, pineapple and green mango. Garnish with 1 Tbsp ground peanuts. Serve immediately.
