Enriched in the flavors of five different spices, this Duck Stew will keep you coming back for more of its hearty goodness!
Let's start cooking!
Step 1 - Fry spices
- In a pan on medium-high heat, heat up 2 Tbsp vegetable oil and fry 4 star anise, 6 cloves and 2 cinnamon sticks for 1 minute,until fragrant.
- Once fragrant, add garlic, ginger slices, 2 galangal slices, 3 tsp five spice powder, 2 tsp white pepper, 6 Tbsp light soy sauce, 2 Tbsp dark soy sauce, 2 tsp rock sugar and 4 stalks spring onion.
- Bring to a boil for 1 minute and transfer to a large deep pot.
Step 2 - Simmer duck until tender
- In a large deep pot, add the duck and enough water to cover duck. Simmer on medium heat for 30 minutes until duck is tender.
Plate and serve!
Place duck meat onto serving bowl and ladle sauce over the duck. Garnish with spring onion and coriander leaves. Serve hot.
