A staple at any Southeast Asian house party, this easy Singaporean-style noodle stir-fry is a household favorite.

Let's start cooking!

Fried beehoon with vegetables and shrimps

Step 1 - Fry vegetables, shrimps, chicken and bee hoon

  • In a pan on medium heat, add 2 Tbsp vegetable oil. When hot, add garlic, onion and bell peppers. Toss and mix well and stir-fry for 1 minute.
  • Add shrimps and chicken. Toss and mix well then add drained bee hoon. Stir-fry for 30 seconds.
    You can also replace seafood with pork or chicken.

Step 2 - Add seasoning

  • Add 1 Tbsp curry powder, 2 Tbsp oyster sauce, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sugar and 1 Tbsp white pepper. Toss and stir to mix well.
  • Add water. Stir well, then remove from heat after 1 minute.
    Adding an egg or Two will make this dish more colorful and filling -simply break and egg into side of the pan or wok after the shrimps, chicken and drained bee hoon, scrambling the egg and mixing it into the noodles before adding seasoning.

Plate and serve!
