Japanese style beef rice bowl
Thinly sliced beef cooked in a perfectly seasoned sauce, over a bed of fluffy Japanese rice. Yum!
Let's start cooking!
Step 1 - Chop spring onion and make sauce
- Chop spring onions and set aside.
- In a pan on medium heat, boil 1 cup water, 2 Tbsp cooking sake, 4 Tbsp mirin, 4 Tbsp light soy sauce, 2 Tbsp sugar and ginger until sugar is dissolved.
Step 2 - Add yellow onions and beef slice
- Once boiling, add in yellow onion slices and let it cook for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and mix in beef slices.
Substitute beef with cooked pork or chicken slices.
Plate and serve!
In the serving bowls, place a bed of Japanese steamed rice and place beef slices and yellow onions over the rice. Drizzle sauce over the beef slices, garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
