Ingredients

Deep fried, moist and succulent, this chicken is a crowd pleaser.

Let's start cooking!

Chicken pieces mixed with gochujang marinade

Step 1 - Marinate chicken

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 2½ Tbsp gochujang, ginger, garlic, 1½ Tbsp brown sugar, ½ Tbsp rice vinegar, and ½ Tsp salt.

  • Add the chicken in the mixture and mix well.

  • Marinate overnight, or for at least 8 hours.

Step 2 - Fry chicken

  • Pour off any excess liquid from the marinade, and seal individual pieces in parchment paper parcels.
By wrapping the chicken than deep-frying them, it ensures that the moisture and juiciness of the chicken is not lost, resulting in an intense flavor in every tender bite.
  • Preheat oil in a large pan or wok to 160°C and fry the parcels for 15 minutes.

  • Drain on a paper towel.

Plate and serve!
