with Oyster Sauce
A tasty lettuce dish, perfect for days when you want to whip up a simple dish.
Let's start cooking!
Step 1 - Slice lettuce
- Cut off the base of lettuce.
- Lay each leaf of lettuce on top of the other, then slice into bite sized pieces and rinse. Set aside. If you prefer your lettuce to be much softer, blanch lettuce in boiling water before frying in oyster sauce mixture
Step 2 - Make oyster mixture and fry lettuce
- In a pan, fry 1 tsp oyster sauce, 1 tsp soy sauce, ½ tsp sesame oil and ½ cup vegetable oil.
- Add sliced lettuce to the pan and fry for 20 seconds to keep the crunchiness of the lettuce. Use baby romaine, kangkong and baby kailan instead of lettuce
Plate and serve!
Garnish with fried shallots and serve hot.
