Beef Jerky Takopachi 双宝庆团圆

  • ½ bowl of Butter
  • 1 whole Leek
  • 1 bowl Cream
  • 1 bowl Octopus
  • 1 bowl Bak kwa (Barbecued pork jerky)
  • ½ bowl Dashi powder
  • 1 bowl of Plain flour
  • ¼ bowl Jelly powder
  • ¼ bowl Tapioca starch
  • ¼ bowl Blended ginger
  • ½ bowl Water
  • ½ bowl bread crumbs
  • 1 pot Oil
  • 1 bowl Mayonnaise
  • 1 whole Apple
  • 1 bowl Kabayaki sauce
  1. Cut the leek into small pieces. After which, pour the butter and the leek into the pot. Place it on a plate to cool
  2. Slice the bak kwa into small cubes
  3. Pour cream into the pot and add water, followed by Dashi powder, and the butter mixed with flour, followed by tapioca starch, then the jelly powder. Keep stirring till it solidifies
  4. Add in the leek and the bak kwa. Stir for a while and pour it into the mould. Place it in the oven for 20 minutes
  5. Stick the 2 halves together to form a ball. After which, coat the ball with the plain flour, then the blended ginger and then the bread crumbs. Repeat this (make sure you do this twice)
  6. Deep fry it for 180 degrees for 4 to 5 minutes
  7. Place the mayonnaise in a bowl and then the ball on top of it. Dribble ½ a spoon of mayonnaise on top of the ball, followed by a pinch of sliced octopus
  8. Slice the apple into thin long slices. Drizzle ½ a spoon of kabayaki sauce on the ball and place the sliced apple as a garnish on top
