Easy Cheesy Scones

  • Yield 6 servings
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar
  • 2 teaspoons Fresh thyme leaves
  • 110 grams (¼ cup) Butter
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • Extra flour for cutting the biscuits/scones out
  1. Pre heat oven to 215 C (400F)
  2. Cut ¼ cup of butter into cubes and put in freezer to get cold
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, grated cheddar, and thyme in a large bowl
  4. Take butter out of freezer (or fridge) and pinch into flour mixture to form a rough “pebbly” texture
  5. Pour in 1/3 of milk, combine gently
  6. With spatula, pour in another 1/3 and mix gently until milk disappears
  7. Pour in rest of milk and combine with hands. Do not overmix, dough should look rough
  8. Gently roll out onto floured board
  9. Cut scones with a glass
  10. Lay onto buttered baking sheet
  11. Bake until golden brown (about 12-15 min)
  12. Serve plain with butter, or with soup!
