Eight Treasures Rice 黄金八宝饭

  • 4 pieces Lupcheong [Chinese dried sausage]
  • 1 slice Pumpkin
  • 1 bowl Bak kwa [Barbecued pork jerky]
  • 1 bowl Pork floss
  • 6 whole pieces Red date
  • 1 bowl Dried oyster
  • 2 whole pieces Mushroom
  • 2 bunches of Bak choy
  • ½ tablespoon dark soya sauce
  • 1 teaspoon spoon light soya sauce
  • ½ tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Half cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  1. Pour water in the claypot and heat
  2. Meanwhile slice the lup cheong and mash the pumpkin
  3. When the water has been heated, pour rice into the claypot, followed by the red dates and the dried oyster. Cover with the lid to leave to boil
  4. Once the rice is cooked, mix the mashed pumpkin with the rice. Pour the lupcheong into the pot. Cover the lid on low heat for about 20 minutes
  5. After which, put the bak choy and bak kwa in. Finally, pour in the pork floss and wait for 3 minutes
  6. Mix the sauces in a small bowl, before pouring in into the claypot to mix evenly
