  • 454 grams ground Beef (80 percent lean)
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 16 small slices Colby Jack Cheese (about 2 inches square)
  • 8 Pretzel slider buns, split
  • For serving: Tomato slices, Lettuce leaves, Red Onion slices and Dill pickle rounds
  1. Prepare a grill or griddle for medium-high heat
  2. Add the beef, salt and pepper to a medium bowl and mix to combine. Divide the beef into 8 equal portions, then form each portion into a patty a little larger in diameter than the buns
  3. Cook the patties for 3 minutes or so (if using a griddle, do this in batches to avoid crowding). Flip with a spatula, add 2 slices of cheese to each and cook until the cheese melts and the burgers are cooked to medium, 3 to 5 minutes more
  4. Transfer the burgers to the buns and serve immediately with tomato slices, lettuce, red onions and pickles
