Red Bean Soup
A popular sweet soup across Asia and Chinese communities worldwide, this soup is also known as hóng dòu tāng.

Step 1 - Boil red beans and rice
- In a pot on medium heat, fill the pot ¾ with water. Add red beans and black glutinous rice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 ½ hours.
Add tapioca pearls for a unique texture to the soup.
Step 2 - Add rock sugar and dried orange skin
- Add rock sugar and dried orange skin, stirring until sugar dissolves.
In traditional Chinese medicine, red beansoup is drunk to remove the “coldness” from the body and fight against constipation.
Plate and serve!
Remove from heat and serve hot.
