Steamed Basil Chicken
A healthy, yet delicious way of preparing chicken, this quick dish is super easy to prepare

Step 1 - Marinate the chicken
- In a separate bowl, mix the chicken with 2 Tbsp soy sauce, ½ tsp pepper and 1 tsp cornstarch and season with ½ tsp salt. Leave to marinate for about 30 minutes. Leave the chicken to marinate longer for a more intense flavour
Step 2 - Assemble the dish
- In a baking dish, place the shredded ginger on the bottom of the pot and sprinkle salt over. Then spread the basil leaves on top of the ginger and place the marinated chicken on top of basil.
Step 3 - Steam the chicken
- Cover the pot, steam the chicken until tender either in a wok or steamer. This takes about 30 to 40 minutes.
Garnish with spring onion and basil leaves. Serve hot.
