Vegetable stir-fry are always a fuss free option for any meal of the day. Here’s a quick and easy recipe for cooking vegetables Chinese-style.Ingredients

Add water chestnuts to a frying pan with cauliflower, snow peas, button mushrooms and baby corn

Step 1 - Stir-fry vegetables

  • In a wok under high heat, heat 1 Tbsp oil and stir-fry garlic for 30 seconds.
  • Add in cauliflower, snow peas, button mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and baby corn and fry for 2 minutes.
    Substitute any of the vegetables for any other vegetables
Season cauliflower, snow peas, button mushrooms and baby corn with oyster sauce

Step 2 - Season and simmer

  • Add chicken stock or water and cook for another 3 minutes, then add 4 Tbsp oyster sauce, 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp kecap manis, 1 tsp sugar, ½ tsp pepper and cornstarch mixture.

    Chicken stock will give more depth to the dish
  • Bring to a boil and allow to simmer for 3 minutes until sauce thickens.

Plate and serve!

Stir-fried cauliflower, snow peas, button mushrooms and baby corn in a bowl
