Sweet Banana Balls
Indulge yourself with these Malaysian fried treats, crispy on the outside and filled with bits of diced banana!
Let's start cooking!
Step 1 - Mix batter
- Dice ripe banana and set aside. With a fork, mash ripe browned bananas and set aside.
- In a big mixing bowl, add in mashed ripe browned bananas, self raising flour, 2 Tbsp brown sugar, ½ tsp salt and 1 cup of warm water.
- Mix well until it is a smooth batter.
- Add in diced bananas and mix well again.
Step 2 - Fry banana balls
In a pot on medium-high heat, heat up enough oil to fry banana balls.Ensure that you do not fry too many banana balls at a time to allow even cooking and the banana balls from sticking to each other.
Dip a spoon in oil to coat it before scooping one tablespoon of batter. Drop batter into the oil and fry until brown. Repeat until batter is used up.Coating the spoon prevents batter from sticking.
Drain fried banana balls on a paper towel lined plate.
Plate and serve!
Arrange fried banana balls neatly on plate of your choice and serve hot!
