with Minced Meat
Originally hailing from Sichuan, China, this mouthwatering tofu dish is served with a juicy meat and mushroom topping.
Let's start cooking!
Step 1- Cook mushrooms and pork
In a pan on medium heat, add 1 Tbsp vegetable oil and fry garlic until fragrant.
Add the pork and mushrooms and stir-fry with the garlic.
Continue to stir-fry the meat until it stops clumping together.For more flavor, marinate the meat in 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp dark soy sauce and ½ tsp white pepper for about half an hour, then cook the meat.
In a ramekin, add 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp dark soy sauce and ½ tsp white pepper.
Add the mix to the pan and stir, breaking up the white pepper.
Continue to stir-fry for 1 more minute, then remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2- Steam tofu
- Place tofu on a plate and top with pork and mushroom.
- Steam the tofu for about 3 minutes, then pour the meat sauce over the tofu. For the more adventurous, try deep frying the tofu instead of steaming for a unique texture.
Garnish and Serve!
Garnish with 1 tsp spring onions and serve hot with rice.
