    Belgian Chef, Emmanuel Stroobant, started his career at the tender age of 16 with humble beginnings – as a dishwasher at one of Belgium’s best restaurants. Two years later, he enrolled in a hospitality institute where he gained invaluable experience while training at several Michelin-starred restaurants.

    By the time he was 23, Chef Emmanuel had opened his first restaurant, Le Bal, in his hometown of Liege and it did not take long before Le Bal became a huge success. Not one to rest on his laurels, Chef Emmanuel made the big move to Australia where he spent the next five years of his life. He then moved to Malaysia for two years where he claimed the title of Best Expatriate Chef 1999 from the World Asia Media.

    His longing for adventure eventually led him to Singapore, where, with his wife Edina, he founded Saint Pierre in December 2000. This marked the beginning of his rise to prominence in the culinary world. During this time, he clinched several awards such as the Wine and Dine Best New Restaurant 2002, Most Innovative Menu 2002, 2004 and 2007, the World Gourmet Summit – Award of Excellence. In 2008, Saint Pierre became a member of the prestigious international association for luxury hotels and restaurants, the Relais & Châteaux group.

    In addition to his many awards, Chef Emmanuel also wrote two cookbooks: Cuisine Unplugged and Vine Dining: White, the latter of which has won the Gourmand World Media Award for Best in the World.

    He has also starred in his own TV series – Chef in Black I & II and most recently, the talented chef starred in the AFC Original Production, 36 Ways to Live. In 36 Ways to Live, he shares 36 recipes that have made a mark on his life. He teaches viewers how to eat, live and enjoy life to the fullest. In 2010, Chef Emmanuel was featured in the AFC Original Production, E&O Search for AFC’s Next Celebrity Chef, as a Celebrity Chef guest judge. It is evident that Chef Emmanuel has both celebrity status and a long list of achievements under his belt.

    Today, Chef Emmanuel owns a number of restaurants in Singapore. From fine-dining French restaurant, Saint Pierre, Rocks Urban Grill + Bar, a fine-dining modern Italian restaurant, and Brussels Sprouts, which offers Belgian cuisine, to the family-style eateries Picotin and Sque Rotisserie & Alehouse.
