Charismatic New Orleans-born chef, TV personality, restaurateur and cookbook author, David Guas, is the host of Asian Food Channel’s American Grilled – where he pits grill masters from various backgrounds across America in a high-heat, high-stakes cooking competition.
David’s cooking career began at Windsor Court Hotel, a luxury hotel in the Central Business district of New Orleans, where he worked as a pastry chef under renowned chef, Jeff Tunks. In 1998, David moved to Washington, DC, to further work as a pastry chef for the launch of Tunks’ restaurant, DC Coast. Over the following decade, David continued to work as a corporate pastry chef, developing the dessert menus for each of Tunks’ subsequent four restaurants.
In 2010, David opened Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery in Arlington, Virginia, where he has been delighting patrons for years with his Louisianan fare. When he’s not in the kitchen, David enjoys hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley.
