    Gino D’Acampo is one of the UK’s most popular TV chefs, having made countless appearances on most leading cookery programs over the last ten years.     In creating his own recipes, Gino takes inspirations from his favorite childhood dishes. Born in the Italian city of Naples, Gino has fond memories of growing up in a farm and cooking together with his nine aunts. His passion for food is greatly influenced by his grandfather, who was the head chef of Costa Cruises. When he was 13 years old, he enrolled in Luigi de Medici Catering College. After finishing his studies, he worked his way around Europe, before eventually settling in London when he was 19 years old.

    Gino enjoys sharing his experiences and knowledge with budding chefs, having spoken in various culinary schools and done numerous live cooking demonstrations. He is a member of both the Federazione Italiana Cuochi (Federation of Italian Chefs) and Associazione Professionale Cuochi Italiani (Association of Professional Italian Chefs).

    Gino has written several bestselling cookbooks, including Fantastico!, which won the Gourmand Cookbook Award for the Best Italian Cookbook in the World cateogry. His other cookbooks include Buonissimo!, Gino’s Pasta, The Italian Diet, Italian Home Baking and La Dolce Diet.

    Aside from his successful media career, Gino is the co-owner of Bontà Italia, the largest supplier of Italian ingredients to the UK. He had also worked with British grocery retailer Tesco in developing ready-made meals for the brand’s Finest range. In August 2013, he opened his first food establishment, My Pasta Bar, in Central London.

    Gino currently lives in north London with his wife Jessie and two sons, Luciano and Rocco, who are his favorite food critics!
