Hosted By: Nigel Slater
Nigel Slater is an English writer and program maker. With over 20 years of experience working in the media industry and several bestselling cookbooks under his belt, he is easily one of the most recognised media veterans.
Nigel has been writing for a much-loved weekly cookery column, for The Observer, the world's oldest newspaper, since 1993. To date, he has been contributing food related articles to the organisation for close to 23 years. It is his fascination for details and small, human moments of cooking and eating that characterise his writing, distinguishing him from other food writers.
Though Nigel is a self-taught cook, his collection of cookbooks is very popular among the public. Describing his food as “understated, handcrafted home cooking”, his books include The Kitchen Diaries and the two-volume Tender. Over the years, he has transitioned into biography writing, where he wrote his own biography, titled Memoir, and published a collection of essays. Nigel’s writing has earned him several awards, such as the “National Book Awards”, and the “British Biography of the Year”.
Nigel is currently based in England, where he works as a writer, program maker and occasionally, a presenter.
