Hosted By: Farah Quinn
Farah Quinn, who stars in A La Chef on the Asian Food Channel, has been a fan of the culinary arts since childhood. As a young girl she spent her days cooking and baking with her mother in their house in Sumatra, Indonesia.
She then moved to America to finish high school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, Farah applied and entered the Indiana University of Pennsylvania to study Finance.
Although Farah graduated with a degree in finance, she began her professional career in the culinary arts working at a famous Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania called Lydia’s Pittsburgh. During this time, Farah studied part-time at the Pittsburgh Culinary Institute focusing on classes specializing in pastry techniques. Upon graduation, Farah uprooted her life again, this time to Phoenix, Arizona, where she took a position in pastry at the Arizona Biltmore Resort.
Farah continued to further her knowledge of the culinary arts by attending classes at the World Pastry Championships, grabbing opportunities to study under pastry moguls such as Ewald Notter and Colette Peters.
In 2005, Farah was fortunate enough to be invited to the G8 Summit at Sea Island Georgia where she created specialty desserts for the likes of First Lady Laura Bush and other world delegates under the guidance of celebrity chef, James Mullaney. In the same year, Farah and her husband, Carson Quinn, opened their own restaurant called Camus in Arizona. Camus was awarded 4 stars for its extraordinary cuisine as well as many other accolades. The restaurant owed its fame to Farah’s hard work; she not only created a decadent menu of desserts, but also managed to fuel the restaurant ambiance with her glowing personality and knack for style.
In her free time, Farah likes to be spontaneous and have fun. She loves traveling and hanging out with her close friends in Indonesia or in the United States. Farah also takes great pride in being loving and devoted mother, and focuses her life on her family, faith, career and all the people around her that make her life so special.
