Potato meat patties are a great snack food. Today I'm going to share with you a recipe, and we call it Begedil. I've got four semi-steamed potatoes here, and I'm just going to roughly mash them. And the reason why I'm not cooking or steaming the potatoes till it becomes really soft is because we are going to cook it again. We don't want to mash them to a complete pulp. You still want a little bit of bite. So to that I'm going to add in 300 grams of ground beef, chopped the spring onion, about half a teaspoon of cumin, two cloves of garlic, some pepper and some sea salt. To bind any meat ingredients you technically do not need any flour. If you use enough salt, it will hold the meat together. Just mix that all up.

Now we need to make our patties slightly bigger than a golf ball size. Going to crack two eggs. So the oil is nice and hot. I'm going to dip my patties into my egg wash and create this really good coating so that the patties don't fall apart, and there's this beautiful eggy crust on the outside. Something about it, it's so delicious. Don't overcrowd your pan. I'm the type of girl who loves her potatoes and loves meat, so this is the perfect snack for me. The mincemeat doesn't take a lot of time to cook, and you've already par-cooked your potatoes. So just a couple of minutes on each side is perfect. These are ready. Oh, it smells so good. Pile them up. So here we go. Hot potato.
